Nastics is what Riley calls gymnastics. She still gets excited for every Monday because she knows we get to go to gymnastics. However, for the past month her regular coach hasn't been there because she had a death in her family and is back on the mainland. We've had the same substitute for the past 3 weeks and I'm not really a fan of her. She doesn't really have much structure for the class and the kids are all running around like wild monkeys. Especially Riley! Today Riley didn't even get to jump on the trampoline which is her favorite part. It's just frustrating because we pay a good amount of money for Riley to go and she's not getting to do everything that her normal coach does. I honestly think I could run it better than the substitute. I'm crossing my fingers that next week Riley's regular coach will be back. Riley is still having fun, but I know what we normally do in the class and expect that routine every week! Monday, October 25, 2010

Another Frightening Day
After the day I had yesterday, I was excited to go to my first OB appointment this morning. I mean there really isn't anything better than hearing your baby's heartbeat for the first time. My appointment was early at 8am, so I was up before the girls were getting myself ready to go. Riley woke up as soon as I was done getting ready, so I got her fed. I had to wake Hadley up so I could feed her before we left. I walked the girls down to my friend Abbey's because she was kind enough to offer to watch them while I went to my appointment. I get to my appointment and see the massive amount of people that are there waiting to be seen. I was thinking to myself, I'm going to be here forever. So I grabbed a magazine and tried to keep myself entertained. I was trying my hardest not to listen or look at the tv because it was on the Food Network and it was making me sick to my stomach. I hadn't eaten because I was rushing around trying to get ready and the girls fed. Whatever was being made on the show just wasn't tickling my fancy, it was making me sick. I just kept my face in the magazine and was praying my name would be called sooner than later! After waiting about 10 minutes one person was called into the back. Once again, I was thinking that this appointment was going to take forever. But then, about 2 minutes later, I heard "Mrs. Prewitt." Wahoo! I was excited to hear my name, but the people who were there before me gave me some mean mugs. Not my fault their doctor was running behind! I met with my doctor, who I found out is really a nurse practitioner. She went over my blood work results first. I'm happy to announce that I don't have HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, or hepatitis. Actually I was pretty amazed that she actually sat there and told me those results as if I should be surprised. My response was "well I wouldn't have expected my blood work to come back any other way." Then it was time for my lovely female exam. Once that fun was over it was finally time to hear baby #3's heartbeat. I was super excited. After a couple of minutes of Dr. Jones moving the doppler around on my stomach and not hearing anything, I got a little nervous. Dr. Jones told me to just relax and she was going to get a physician to come in and take a sonogram. You normally only get one sonogram here and that's at 20 weeks. So during the 10 minutes that I'm alone in the room waiting for the physician to come in I'm definitely starting to panic. I was definitely thinking about how stressed I was yesterday with Hadley locked in the car and that I must have stressed too much and done something to the baby. It was the longest 10 minutes I've ever waited. I was trying to just breathe calmly through my nose, but I don't know how well that was working. Finally Dr. Jones came back with the physician who had a portable sonogram machine. I was scared to look at the screen. But once the doctor told me to look at the screen to see the strong heartbeat I looked. There was a little tiny baby with a little beating heart. What a relief!! Apparently I'm not as far along as we thought. Going by my last period I should be 11 weeks and 1 day, but the doctor was guessing I'm only about 9 weeks. Since the sonogram machine she was using wasn't able to measure the baby I have to schedule an ultrasound so we can get a more accurate due date. That made me happy because I've always had at least 2 ultrasounds with my previous pregnancies. I came home and scheduled the ultrasound which will be on November 16th. So I guess I'll wait until then to find out when I'm due and how far along I am! I'm just happy that I've got another baby with a strong heartbeat growing inside of me! However, I can't take anymore stressful events anytime soon!!

Scariest Moment of My Life, Thus Far!
I'd like to think of myself as a mom that doesn't make too many mistakes. Sure my children have rolled off the couch, banged their heads on corners of tables, gotten a bloody lip or two, but I haven't let anything too awful happen to them.
I ran out to run some errands this morning, nothing too out of the ordinary. When we got home I parked my Tahoe in the garage, turned the car off, and went to get the girls out of the car. I always leave my door open until both of the girls are out of the car, don't know why I do, but I do. I get Riley out and then walk around to the other side of the Tahoe to grab Hadley. As I reach for the door handle on Hadley's side I hear a click. The click you hear when the doors lock. I see through the window that Riley had shut my door. I still try to open Hadley's door, but it's locked. My heart sank into my stomach. Now normally it wouldn't be an issue because I could just grab the spare set of keys in the garage. Except the spare key was inside the center console locked in the Tahoe. I took a deep breath and ran down to my neighbor Derel, who praise the Lord was home, and told him I had Hadley locked inside of the car. Within a few moments he came down with some contraptions to try and get the doors unlocked. I was pretty calm and just trying to play peek-a-boo with Hadley through the window. After about 10 minutes Hadley had enough of being locked in the car. She just started crying and then crying louder. My heart was breaking. Then in the midst of this I look over at Riley and see that she wet her pants. Normally when she has an accident she cries and tells me, but not today. Riley was more concerned about Hadley and me. Riley asked me, "you gonna be alright momma?" I told her everything was going to be ok and got her changed real quick and had her color inside while Derel kept on trying to unlock the doors. Of course the keys were still in the ignition so when Derel would push the unlock button it wouldn't work. The car just kept on locking. I began to get sick to my stomach at that point. I had called a locksmith, but they were going to be 20-30 minutes. I was scared that wasn't quick enough. I suggested to Derel to try and unlock the door with the manual latch. He didn't think that he'd be able to maneuver his tool that way. Thankfully he was able to and got the door unlocked. Hallelujah! Hadley had been in the car for about 30 minutes. I think it was the longest 30 minutes of both of our lives. She was fine, but I couldn't stop hugging and kissing her. Hadley stopped crying the second she was in my arms. Me on the other hand, I'm still getting upset thinking about the situation. I guess I could have just busted the window open, but I didn't want glass flying everywhere and potentially cutting Hadley. I am so grateful to Derel for getting the door unlocked. I snapped a shot of my sweaty beast a few minutes after we got inside. My poor baby. Oh and by the way, Hadley is 11 months old today!

Little Piggies
I often wonder when I'm going to get to the point at meals when I don't have to wipe my children down head to toe after they are done eating. Clearly with a third on the way I have years to go. It's funny though, Riley wasn't a messy eater as a baby. I didn't even have to put a bib on her because she ate every spoonful I gave her. Hadley is a different story. She likes to eat what's on the spoon and then spit some back out of her mouth. Then she likes to grab the spoon from me and make food go flying everywhere. Riley isn't so much of clean eater anymore. She always winds up with food all over her face and we always take her shirt off because she always manages to spill something down the front of her. Due to the fact that Riley doesn't like to have anything dirty on her clothes, she eats topless! I'm now introducing regular foods to Hadley. I'm really cautious though because she has a horrible gag reflex and I don't think I could handle her choking on something. She is a huge fan of mac & cheese, a girl after my own heart! She also does pretty well with toast, bananas, and french fries! But she has to feed herself or the food won't enter her mouth. Again, much different from Riley who let me feed her regular food. It's true what they say, no two kids are alike. I can only imagine what baby #3 will be like! After I snapped the shots of the girls shoveling food into their mouths, I got one of them smiling! These smiles make me not care about cleaning up the mess that they make of themselves. I mean they are little kids. Who cares if they get messy??? Not me!

Sidewalk Chalk
Riley's new favorite outdoor activity is to draw with her sidewalk chalk. She is seriously a huge fan of the chalk. She loves when daddy and mommy draw things for her too. I'm not the best artist, so my drawings normally consist of flowers, butterflies, hearts and stars. Sometimes I'll draw a little sailboat, but it seriously looks like third grade art! Trey is somewhat better than me. He drew her a big huge speed boat (which she is standing on the front of in the picture to the left). The good thing is Riley doesn't care what you draw or how good you are at drawing it, just as long as you use the color that she chooses for you. Riley likes to draw pictures of mommy, daddy and Hadley. We all look like scribbles, but she's proud of her work! Trey drew a hopscotch area so we were trying to teach Riley how to do play. She didn't pay much attention to our direction and just kept running through the hopscotch game. As long as she was enjoying herself I was satisfied! I think she may still be a little young to understand the concept of hopscotch anyway. Needless to say, we spend plenty of time outside decoration the road behind our house and the sidewalk in front of our house!

Rainy Days
First of all, I'm sorry I've been slacking on keeping the blog updated. I have been feeling totally lethargic lately and any moment that I might get free is used for me to rest. Honestly, the last thing I have felt like doing is sitting in front of my computer to type a story. However, last night I got asked by Trey to update the blog. He informed me that he enjoys showing off new pictures at work. So I feel guilty because I know there are people that check in on us frequently. These shots are from last week. It rained almost every day which was actually alright with me because that meant I didn't have to go play outside. Isn't that awful of me? I did my best to keep the girls entertained inside though. There was a lot of coloring going on for Riley and block building with both of the girls. Hadley's new favorite thing to do is climb into Riley's chair and just chill out. It's the cutest thing to just watch her sit in the big ol' chair like she is queen of the house. I guess Hadley will be needing her own chair for her first birthday just like her big sister. Riley isn't always the best with sharing her chair because it's HERS. Luckily, Riley was being super nice this day and decided that Hadley could have the chair because Riley was doing flips and somersaults on the couch. I'm guessing that was way more fun for Riley!
I'm lucky with Riley because she always can entertain herself, which makes it nice for me right now since I have minimal energy. And when I say minimal I mean I feel like I could sleep for a week straight! Hadley on the other hand needs constant entertainment. She's a handful. Not to mention she is cutting some new teeth which has made her fussier than normal. This has definitely not been a good thing because my patience is very limited at the present time. I just try to walk away and take some deep breaths before I try to calm my ear piercing screaming daughter. The worst part is when Hadley is screaming like she does, all she wants is for me to hold her. Then I feel guilty because I can't just hold her all day long. First of all, she's rather heavy and secondly, I need both of my hands at many points during my day. However, we all made it through the last week. I have seriously felt like a bad mother and wife because of my major lack in energy. I apologized to my whole family for not being myself, but I sort of blame Trey since he's the one who got me pregnant! Just kidding, I don't blame him. I do know that this will be the last addition to our clan. I can't imagine being pregnant and having to take care of three little ones. I'm not trying to complain. I'd just thoroughly enjoy my energy back so that I can play with my girls and cook dinner for the family! Energy, you are welcome back to me at anytime! Hopefully it will come sooner than later!
This picture makes me laugh because Hadley is trying to push Riley out of the chair!
