First Day of Pre-School

Today was a very big day in the Prewitt house.  It was Riley's first day of pre-school.  We put Riley on the waiting list last year at Tiny Tots Christian Pre-School and I received a phone call back in early May saying that there was a spot open for Riley!  Yay, I was so excited!  Riley has been anticipating this day since I told her that there was a spot open for her and she'd be going to school this year.  We went back to school shopping this weekend and got Riley all the supplies from her list.  She picked out her backpack and was thrilled with her choice, none other than Dora the Explorer!!
When Riley woke up this morning she came walking down the stairs with a huge smile on her face and said, "It's my school day!!!!"  I almost shed a tear looking at the excitement on her face and hearing the excitement in her voice.  But I kept it together!  She ate a bowl of cereal and talked about going to school the entire time.  I, of course, broke out the camera to start capturing pictures of this big day.

Here is Hadley, excited that mommy let her eat teddy grahams for breakfast because she refused to eat anything else.  I wasn't in a fighting mood this morning.
Emrey's just taking in all the excitement in her bouncy seat.  She was being so good while I was getting Riley & Hadley ready I couldn't resist taking her picture!

Riley picked out her outfit, along with which barrettes she was going to wear.  I had no say in the matter!  She did a good job though.  Pink was her color for today!  A big thanks to Kiki & Po who sent Riley her hot new kicks for school.  Riley only wears crocs, sandals, or flip flops, so it was a big deal to see her in some sneakers!  Riley was super excited about her school shoes though because they match the shoes that Dora is wearing on her comforter in her bedroom.
I think I started annoying Riley with how many pictures I kept taking.  But my baby girl was heading off to her first day of school and I couldn't help myself.  She was a good sport about it though!

I signed Riley into her class and we hung her backpack on her assigned hook and she ran to grab a seat.  She didn't care that I was leaving.  I had to ask for a hug and a kiss.  I told her to have a good day and then had to scoop Hadley up who also found herself a seat in the classroom.  Hadley wasn't happy that she had to leave with me.  I'm so excited for Riley to get familiar with a classroom setting and have some fun experiences with her class.
