Riley's Birthday Par-tay

Trey & I threw Riley a little birthday party this afternoon.  We just had our good friends over to help celebrate Riley turning 2.  We all enjoyed some scrumptious Boston's Pizza and then the kids had a little water play.  We set up a slip-n-slide for the kids to play on.  It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon and perfect to have the kiddos play in some water.

After the kids were done playing in the water we decided it was pinata time.  We had a cute Dora the Explorer pinata filled with goodies for the kids to bust open. Trey rigged up his Jeep so that the pinata would be low enough for the kids to hit.  Riley got to go first since she was the birthday girl.  She wasn't really sure about holding a baseball bat and then having to swing the bat.  Both Trey and our friend Erika tried to help Riley.  After two swings she decided she'd rather finish eating her apple and watch all the other kids take a turn trying to break open the pinata.  Once the pinata mess was cleaned up it was time for birthday cake!!

As we all sang Happy Birthday to Riley she sat there staring at us like we had all lost our minds.  It was hysterical.  She didn't get shy or bashful, she just stared very intensely.  Daddy helped Riley blow out her candles and then Riley stuck her fingers right into the cake to get a tast of the yummy chocolate frosting.  I did my best making Riley's birthday cake, but I'm far from a cake decorator.  Oh well, it's the love that went into the cake decorating that made it beautiful.  At least that's what I keep telling myself.  Then Riley got to open some presents.  Her favorite was the package of new disney princess cha-cha's!!  I am so thankful that we have such good friends that helped us celebrate my baby's second birthday!
