Time for a Beach Break

We've had a lot going on these past few weeks.  Trey & I have been trying to get organized for our move this Thursday.  We've been going through the closets and garage throwing out all of the unnecessary things that we seem to hold onto but don't ever use or need.  We got rid of a lot of stuff last weekend, just in time for our bulk pick-up day.  Then, as most of you know, we were under a tsunami warning Thursday night into Friday morning.  Hearing the sirens go off is never a pleasant experience.  As we watched the news of the devastation in Japan my stomach sank and my heart started racing.  I was rather nervous and felt very uneasy.  The worst part was that the expected time for the tsunami to hit was 3:07am, so there was no sleeping for me or Trey.  Trey went out as soon as we heard the first warning siren and filled my tahoe up with gas and I filled our bathtub full of water.  We both thought this time something was going to happen.  Luckily only a small wave hit in Haliewa and didn't do any catastrophic damage.

With all that craziness we decided to take Sunday off from trying to pack or prepare for our move and just go chill at the beach.  We headed to our favorite spot, The Bellows!  It was a beautiful day and absolutely perfect for some fun time at the beach.  Riley was out of her mind excited to go.  It's been quite awhile since we've been.  This winter has been chilly and rainy, not really "go to the beach" weather.  When we got all set up I fed the girls a little lunch before they got all sandy.  Then Riley grabbed her toys and headed straight for the ocean.  Riley was running around, splashing in the water and giggling away!  Hadley was content just playing in the dry sand by our chairs.  It was nice to sit and watch both of the girls play and not complain about a thing!  Trey and I joked about how we are finally at a good point with the girls ages that they are happy and the beach and it's all about to change in a couple of months with a newborn!  I'm sure she'll love the beach just like her big sisters!

Both of the girls got wiped out in the water.  Riley was more concerned that she let go of her toy than they fact she was under water.  Hadley on the other hand wasn't too happy about being rolled around by the little wave.  Don't worry, she wasn't under water for more than a second, but her reaction was priceless!

After a few hours we said goodbye to the beach.  It was hard because of how much fun we were having, but we were all tired and knew we needed to get home to get a few things accomplished.  After we got home and I got the girls bathed I sent them downstairs with daddy so that I could get my shower.  Daddy turned a movie on for the girls and got them all snuggled up on the couch.  We had a great day and hopefully after our move we'll be able to have some more fun days at the beach!
