Kaimuki Park

Today Riley and I met some of our friends from our hui group at Kaimuki Park. The baby hui group is over, but we still meet up every other week for play dates. I actually remembered to bring my camera today so I figured I'd share a couple of shots. The top picture has about half of the moms and babies-(left to right: Beth & Samantha, Kim & Zozo, Riley, Sivaly & Keerin, and Norma & Johnathan). Everyone had a fun time being out in the fresh air. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, but that's pretty much everyday for us! Riley is the only one in the group that is walking and was running all over the place. She was chasing the pigeons that were in the park. Riley definitely gives me a workout when I take her to the park or a playground. She is one outdoorsy girl!

It's Confirmed!

Yes, you are seeing this correctly! Trey and I are expecting another baby!! We are both super excited! I went to the doctors yesterday to have it confirmed. It's still really early, but we are confident that everything is going to be just fine. The approximate due date as of now is November 26th. We will have lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Quick Learner

Trey and I are super impressed by how quickly Riley learns. Last week I started the program "your baby can read" with Riley. Much to my surprise Riley actually sits(or stands) in front of the tv and watches the whole dvd. We are now in week 2 and she has picked up on a few of the words. She's not yet reading them, but when the words are spoken Riley does the action. Riley is putting her arms up when told, pointing to her mouth, and clapping her hands when instructed by the dvd. I was rather skeptical about the whole program, but it seems to be having a positive effect on our girl. Who knows, perhaps after a few months she'll actually be able to read words. I guess we'll see!! I will definitely be amazed if she does!

Precious Moment

This shot was taken while Mr. Bill was here visiting. I forgot to get it from him before he left and Trey finally asked him to email it yesterday. Thanks Mr. Bill! Our little love bug was plum tuckered out after a long day. This was the night after we went hiking, twice! Riley passed out in the car on the way home from dinner and when I got her out of the car she didn't wake up. That's when I know she's exhausted! Anyway...I just thought it was a sweet picture of our sweet girl and wanted to share it with all of you!

Happy Birthday Justin!!

Today my big brother turns the big 3-0! Well technically he turned 30 yesterday in the Philippines, but it's his day here today in the US! Anyway...we are wishing you a happy birthday. We hope you have a wonderful day! We love you!
And thanks to my mom for giving me such a great big brother! After having a baby of my own, I realize that the mother deserves some credit for their child's birthday too!

Rainy Day

It's been a nasty, rainy weekend. There is really nothing else to do than snap some pictures of Riley. Of course everytime I go to take pictures of her she chases me to get the camera. So sometimes I chop of her head, but I still think the pictures are adorable. I'm sure that you will think the same!

Baby Pool

Riley is a total outdoors kind of girl. If she's in a cranky mood the second you take her outside she's a happy camper. Trey was outside hosing off our back patio and left the sliding door open. Of course Riley found her way outside, so Trey let her play out back while he continued to hose of the patio. (I should mention that Riley started off being outside in a dress. ) It only took a few minutes for Riley to walk through the water coming out of the hose. The next thing you know, Riley is sitting on the ground playing in the puddles of water. Trey decided to just fill her pool up so she could splash around in there. I stripped her down to her diaper and tossed her into the pool. Riley and Trey splashed around in there for a little while. Let me tell you, that hose water was freezing. I don't even know how Riley was enjoying it. Like I've said before, Riley's just a water baby!

Bad Hair Day

I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but Riley has been waking up in the morning with a mo hawk. Her hair stands straight up in the middle of her head. I'm pretty sure it's from me rubbing her head before she goes to bed. It puts a big smile on my face in the morning though because she looks so darn cute. Of course when I get her dressed and ready for the day I wet her head to brush her hair down and parts of her hair won't stay down. Oh well! I still think she's absolutely adorable, even with a mo hawk!

Book Worm

Unlike her mother and father, Riley loves to read her books. Or rather have her books read to her! No matter which book it is, Riley will normally give you her undivided attention if you read to her. And even if you aren't reading to her she'll flip through the pages of her books all by herself. I find it to be one of the cutest things in the world. If Riley is tired of just looking through the pages she'll bring a book to you so you will read it to her. I can only hope she'll continue her love for books. Perhaps she'll take after her Uncle Justin and Kiki in this matter, rather than me and Trey!

Garage Girl

When I found out I was having a little girl, I was so excited thinking about how prissy she would be. I never expected to have a little girl that loves to get dirty! No matter how hard I try to prevent Riley from playing in the dirt, she still manages to get dirty.
Trey was cleaning out the garage and Riley decided she's like to play in the pile of dirt he was sweeping up. She was searching through the pile of dirt for anything she could pick up and hold. Needless to say, she was filthy dirty after only a few minutes outside.

Take a look at those dirty and pants and shoes. That would be a result of Riley wanting to play in the garage with daddy. Dirty, dirty girl. Looks to me like I've got a tomboy(or tom girl...whatever it's called) on my hands!

First Try

Last night Trey asked if you could post videos on the blog. I told him yes. So Trey grabbed our fabulous video camera( thanks Mom and Mr Kev) and started filming Riley. There was really nothing exciting going on, just a regular evening of Riley running back and forth. Here is our first try at adding a video. Enjoy!!

Dress Up

The other day I was getting Riley undressed downstairs so I could take her up for her bath. It just so happened that I had the laundry basket with clean clothes downstairs too. After I got Riley's shirt off she ran over to the laundry basket and grabbed out one of my tank tops. She just started running around the living room with the tank as if it were the best thing ever! I decided to put the tank top on her and she seemed to think that was the funniest thing in the world. Trey grabbed the camera and snapped what I think is a great picture. Just wanted to share Riley's infectious smile with you!!
