Air Show

Trey, Riley, and I joined our neighbors for the Air Show at Hickam Air Force Base. We got to see the Thunderbirds put on their air show. I was thinking they would be awesome like the Blue Angels. So for a little bit, I felt like I was in good ol' Annapolis. However, I quickly realized I wasn't! It was a blast to watch the Thunderbirds perform and see how much talent they have. But they didn't come close to the Blue Angels! Go Navy! Riley said a new word while watching the Thunderbirds, "loud!" It was funny because every time they flew over our heads Riley would yell "loud!"
I'm pretty sure that it was the hottest day of the summer and the black ground didn't help much! Of all days not to have much trade wind, today was not the day! All the people there realized the only place to cool off was under the all the airplane displays. The wings of the planes were providing much needed shade.

It was a fun afternoon, but I couldn't wait to get into some nice cold a/c! You can just look at Riley's rosy cheeks and see how hot it was!

Daddy and Riley

Riley loves when her daddy is home and playing with her. They are very entertaining to watch! Daddy is the rough houser, while mommy plays with blocks and puzzles. I think that is one of the reasons Riley gets so excited to see daddy when he gets home from work, because he tosses and tickles, and tickles and tosses until he's sweating!

Trey invented a new game with Riley that she wouldn't let him stop playing. He wrapped Riley in our couch cushion like a sausage and flew her around the living room. I was a little nervous because all I could picture was Riley flying out of the cushion and falling. Riley on the other hand was overjoyed. She was laughing like a crazy child!!

After each ride she just wanted more, more, more!! Trey was seriously sweating after about 15 minutes of this game. But Riley was insisting that he continue playing. I was laughing at Trey. I knew he was exhausted from throwing her around, but he can't say no to Riley when she wants him to play. I get a kick out watching these two come up with new games. I'm just glad she doesn't try to get me to play them! I leave the rough housing all to Trey!

New to Me

Since we knew we were expecting another baby Trey has wanted to get a bigger vehicle. He was constantly saying that the Trailblazer wasn't going to be big enough for our family of 4! I thought he was crazy. However, we found a great deal on a 2002 Chevy Tahoe and it cut our monthly car payment in half. How could we say no to that?? I'm still getting used to driving a larger vehicle but I absolutely love the Tahoe. It definitely has enough room for our family and for visitors when have them. The only downfall about the Tahoe is that it doesn't have a dvd player like the Trailblazer did. Riley was spoiled by the dvd player. Every time we were in the car we had to turn on a movie for her. I guess in a way it's better without the dvd player because Riley gets to look at all the scenery and I get to listen to music again!! I think once we get back to the mainland we might get a dvd player installed for the kids for the times we are on road trips.
And of course Trey gave the Tahoe a proper "Prewitt" cleaning which includes inside and outside, and under the hood. Trey just couldn't resist putting his baby girl on the car. So I grabbed the camera to snap some shots. Riley appears to be a big fan of the Tahoe too!!

Tiny Roommate

Living in Hawaii you have to become fond of unwanted pets in your home. The first time I saw a gecko in our house I screamed rather loudly. But I have become accustomed to the little creature. They do sometimes freak me out a little when I see them because it's normally at an unsuspecting moment. I went to pull up the blinds yesterday only to find this little guy hiding under them. Now he's just a little baby gecko. They are supposed to be good to have in your house because they eat bugs. This is probably why I don't mind them too much. I'd rather have this little guy than a tons of bugs. Too bad I've found cockroaches that are double the size of this gecko. I hope that he'll grow quickly so he can eat the bigger, nasty bugs. We have pest control coming soon to get rid of the cockroach issue. I just can't live with them anymore. And with my mom and Trey's mom coming in November, I'd like to have a bug free home!!

28 Weeks

Please excuse the blurry picture. I wanted to show everyone my belly at 28 weeks, but apparently I'm not the best at holding the camera steady! And trying to get Trey to take a picture is like pulling teeth. So just pretend you've had a bit to drink and the picture will become clearer!!

I had my 28 week check-up on Thursday. Everything appears to be great with baby girl #2. Her heart rate is still strong at about 142 bpm and she's moving all over my belly. I think my favorite part of pregnancy is watching my belly move. Everything appears to be ok with me too. My blood pressure and heart rate are normal and I've gained 23lbs. The doctor did say that I'm on track with the weight gain but he doesn't want me to gain more than 30-35lbs. Hopefully I won't, but I did gain 45lbs with Riley. I guess I could stop eating ice cream nightly, but that's my guilty pleasure! I had to get my glucose screening done at this appointment as well. I got to drink the nasty orange drink and finish it in 5 minutes, then wait an hour for them to take my blood. I have a huge bruise on my arm from their first attempt of taking my blood. My veins are the worst. Then afterwards I had to go to Tripler Hospital to get my Rhogam shot in my booty. The nurse kindly said the needle was going in my right hip, but I definitely got the shot in my right butt cheek! I have a nice bruise there as well. I forgot how much that needle burns. There is my update on baby girl #2!! I can rest easy knowing that we are both healthy!

Name Change

Okay, so after a lot of discussion Trey and I have decided against the name Kennedy Lynn Prewitt for our new baby girl. There were way too many people thinking it was after President Kennedy and kept referencing that family. Not to mention Trey and I watched a special on the History channel about the Kennedy family only to learn that there was a bad omen to their name. Therefore, we have changed our minds. And we both agreed to change the name with no argument. We have decided on another name that is going to stick this time. However, at this time I'm not sure that we are going to announce the new name. There is always someone who isn't going to like the name and we don't want to be influenced in any way. What matters is the fact that we like the name and feel that it will suit our new little girl perfectly. Trey said he's happy with the new name because it's just as good as Riley Jane!

Trip to the Zoo

Riley and I spent the morning at the zoo with some of her pals from our Baby Hui group. We hadn't been to the zoo since last year with my mom, Sara, and Addie. I figured it would be a good time to take Riley back since she notices animals much more now. Of course, come to find out Riley was more interested in the fish and turtles that were in the ponds that surrounded the monkeys and gorillas. She did try to mimic the monkey sound though which was pretty cute! I'm thinking next time I'll take Riley to the aquarium.

Above is a picture of Riley with Samantha and Beckson. Beckson is about 3 months older than Riley and looks like he is 3 years old!! It's so funny to see all the kids now and how much they've grown in the past 10 months. They are all like weeds!!

It was a really fun morning at the zoo. Riley held up really well the entire time which surprised me because she didn't get her morning nap. Once we got home and had lunch we both crashed out for a nap.
